Solving Multiplication Problems using Splitting Factors as a Strategy! Siobhan and Breeyan.

Problem:
Jane saves $15 for 22 weeks. How much money does she have saved up?
Step 1: Read the problem.
Step 2: Put it in a maths equation, 15 x 22 =
Step 3: Choose strategy - Splitting factors.
Step 4: Solve it,
15 x 22 =
10 x 22 = 220
5 x 22 = 110
So 220 + 110 = 330
Learning Tip: Remember the numbers you have to add up at the end!
