Basketball with Counties Manukau Basketball

To raise our basketball skills and remind us how much fun basketball is, Mr Fourie arranged some basketball sessions with Counties Manukau Basketball at school. On Mondays and Tuesdays of weeks 1 - 3 the entire Reremoana school are doing a basketball development program.
During these sessions we have learnt different techniques and skills to help us in the future if we ever want to participate in BasketBall.
Some of the drills we used to improve our skills were: We did some warm-up’s, passing, dribbling the ball around the court.
Next we got into partner’s and practiced a variety of passes and dribbling exercises. We then played some hands on games. We used our new improved skills to show of our talent. The instructor split us into two even teams, standing on either side of the court and listening to the instructions for our next task which was to listen out for a number of people to come out from each team and play, the first to score a goal is the winning team. Finally we played a game that was like musical chairs only without the music and the chairs but with bright colored mats, placed around a corner on the court. This game helped us use our new skills to be able to become better basketball players.
We would like to thank Mr Fourie for organising this for our entire school.
