On Friday the 2nd December we had our Kereru team bike day. To prepare for this bike day we had constable Dave come to help us do our bike checks. That means we went through our entire bike to see if it is safe to ride on. If anything needed fixing we had to get it ready before we leave.
Constable Dave also helped to check that every bike helmet is safe and tight enough to protect us if we had a fall.
At 10:00 we left from school, we biked all the way to Kauri point reserve. There Mr Fourie set up a fun course to ride on and a time trial course for the more skilled cyclists. After about an hour we had a class room relay. Of course room 5 won again.
Then we packed up to complete our 10km bike ride around Wattle Downs.
Have a look at some of our pictures.

Finishing our raised gardens.
As part of our Inquiry in term 2 we designed and built raised gardens at school. We did research on the types of plants and soil we wanted to plant. So in term 3 we filled the boxes with soil and scoria to help with drainage.
With the help of the wonderful school support team we got the plants and got to plant them ourselves. Every student who wanted to could help to work the compost into the soil and help plant the new plants.
Please come and have a look at our beautiful garden.
